LAS VEGAS –
For the third consecutive year, the Soldiers and civilians of the U.S. Army 6th Medical Recruiting Battalion came together to honor the nation’s veterans through their participation in Wreaths Across America Day. This annual event, held on December 14, reflects the spirit of the holidays by remembering the sacrifices of those who served, honoring their legacy, and teaching the next generation the value of freedom.
This year, the battalion’s efforts spanned across multiple locations, with representatives volunteering at national and state cemeteries throughout the western United States. Together, they donated not only their time but also their personal funds to ensure that wreaths were laid at the gravesites of fallen service members. Their presence served as a reminder to the families of these heroes—and to the nation—that their sacrifices are never forgotten.
In the quiet moments of reflection as wreaths were placed, battalion members exemplified the Army’s core values of selfless service and loyalty. For many, the event was deeply personal. Some had the honor of laying wreaths at the graves of Soldiers they once served alongside, while others found solace in paying tribute to veterans whose families were unable to attend.
“Our participation in Wreaths Across America is more than a tradition; it’s a commitment to our veterans and their families,” said Captain Zanne Wilsson, battalion operations officer in charge. “Each wreath represents a promise that we will always honor their service and remember their sacrifices. As a battalion, standing together for this cause strengthens our bond and reinforces the importance of service beyond self.”
The 6th Medical Recruiting Battalion has consistently embodied the spirit of unity and giving back. This year's participation reflected their dedication not only to recruiting the next generation of Army medical professionals but also to ensuring that the contributions of past generations are forever honored.
As the battalion moves into a new year, their collective effort in Wreaths Across America serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of community, the enduring legacy of service, and the unbreakable connection between Soldiers, their families, and the nation they protect.
Together, we honor. Together, we serve. Together, we remember.
