FORT KNOX, Ky. –
Sgt.1st Class Chashella Martin, a native of Anderson, South Carolina, serves as a recruiter with the Margate Recruiting Station in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“I was drawn to serve in the U.S. Army because it offers me independence, stability, and the sense of belonging to a large family, which I have always desired,” Martin said. “Within the Army, I have the chance to push my boundaries and apply myself in ways I could never have imagined.”
Martin joined the U.S. Army as a Cargo Specialist. She then transferred to the healthcare field as a Dental Specialist followed by Medical Laboratory Specialist. She really enjoyed being a Dental Specialist until she discovered the world of recruiting.
“Of the three, recruiting provided me with the same immediate satisfaction as being a Dental Specialist.” Martin said. “Seeing the positive impact on someone’s life and witnessing their smile change brings immense joy to my heart.”
Her future goals are looking forward to refining her skills and achieving success as an Army recruiter. Her ultimate aspiration is to become a Talent Acquistion Technician Warrant Officer before she completes her military service.
U.S. Army Recruiting Command has given her the opportunity to serve as a role model for the future generation, which grants her the platform to inspire and guide them towards establishing a strong foundation for their future. In addition, she can impart valuable life lessons and demonstrate the importance of building a strong path forward.
When not recruiting Martin enjoys spending time with her family, immersing herself in art galleries and exploring new destinations.
“The source of my success lies with my late mother, who consistently instilled in me the value of strength and the importance of sharing knowledge for the benefit of others,” Martin said. “I believe if I can positively impact at least one person's circumstances, then I have fulfilled my purpose.”
