FORT KNOX, Ky. –
Col. Whitney Jensen accepted command of the United States Army’s 3rd Recruiting Brigade in a ceremony held at the George S. Patton Memorial Museum on Friday, July 19, 2024.
Jensen comes to 3rd Brigade following a dual-hatted tour as both the Chief of Protection and the Provost Marshal of V Corps. Army Recruiting leadership is a familiar area for her, however, as she previously served as the Battalion Commander for the New York City Recruiting Battalion.
She was charged with brigade command by the ceremony host, United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Johnny Davis.
3rd Brigade is the center of Army Recruiting activities for an expansive territory spanning the north central United States. The 614,390 square mile area includes Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and most of Tennessee.
The outgoing commander, Col. Scott Allen, assumed command of 3rd Brigade on July 22, 2022. Allen’s next assignment will be as the Director - Center for Army Lessons Learned at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
