FORT KNOX, Ky. –
U.S. Army Recruiting Command inducted seven recruiting noncommissioned officers from across the command into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club March 31 at Fort Knox.
Soldiers selected go through an extensive process where they must receive a recommendation from their command along with attending a rigorous board. Each of these NCOs are also expected to live up to the four tenets of the SAMC: loyalty, discipline, professionalism and caring.

USAREC initiated its Sergeant Audie Murphy Club under the guidance of Command Sgt. Maj. Roger Leturno in 2000, when the first 15 soldiers were inducted.
