ARLINGTON, Va. –
Nine recruiting noncommissioned officers headed to the Pentagon Oct. 19 for a recognition ceremony hosted by the vice chief of staff of the Army.
Gen. Joseph Martin recognized U.S Army Recruiting Command’s top 18 recruiting noncommissioned officers for their success during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2021. Several of the NCOs were unable to attend in person.
“You are the very best of the very best; you can’t just be a recruiter there is a selection process for that,” Martin told USAREC personnel during the ceremony, which was held in the Hall of Heroes. “We are recognizing true excellence today.”
Maj. Gen. Kevin Vereen, USAREC commanding general, opened the ceremony with remarks commending the Soldiers on their hard work and accomplishments throughout one of the most challenging recruiting environments the command has ever seen.
“We are the front door to the most respected Army in the world,” Vereen said. “What we do matters. It matters to the communities you reach every day. It matters to the Future Soldiers and their families. And it matters to our nation.”
In the fourth quarter of this fiscal year, these 18 individuals collectively helped 110 new enlisted Soldiers, six chaplains, and seven medical professionals find their home with the U.S. Army.
Each Soldier received a Meritorious Service Medal, a commemorative coin, and a USAREC watch that contains the nostalgic photo and slogan of Uncle Sam.
