USAREC and AUSA sign partnership agreement

By Maj. Jessica Rovero U.S. Army Recruiting Command

U.S. Army Recruiting Command and the Association of the United States Army finalized a partnership agreement during a signing ceremony at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. today.

USAREC Commanding General Maj. Gen. Frank Muth and AUSA President and CEO Retired Gen. Carter Ham signed the memorandum of understanding officiating a formal partnership between the two organizations.

“This partnership will help us work together to reach key influencers in our local communities," Muth said. "Sharing our Army story will improve our ability to recruit our future leaders."

This partnership establishes a cooperative framework to facilitate USAREC outreach to AUSA Headquarters and local chapters to keep them well-informed of key messages and initiatives in recruiting to share those messages with the public.

According to the agreement, USAREC will provide information to local AUSA chapters and communities on current recruiting successes and specific challenges to current and strategic future missions. In turn, AUSA will assist USAREC in reaching influential community leaders and organizations, relay positive Army messages and strengthen ties to those communities.

Together, these organizations will identify innovative ways to enhance their abilities to reach out to key influencers in local communities, share the Army story and increase the Army’s ability to recruit strong young men and women into the Army.

“If recruiters are not successful, then the whole enterprise starts to fall apart," Ham said.
