The Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs approved a request from Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Snow, commanding general of U.S. Army Recruiting Command, to reinstate the Gold Recruiter Badge on Sept. 27, 2017, for fiscal 2017.
The badge had been suspended since Feb. 3, 2011 when the command went away from the individual recruiting concept to the team concept.
In 2016, Snow requested reinstatement of the Gold Recruiter Badge to increase recruiting efficiency by cultivating a positive and competitive recruiting environment, motivate teams to accomplish the mission, influence individuals to contribute consistently to the team mission, and reinforce positive recruiting behaviors.
