Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Cynthia A. Loughery

Command Sergeant Major Cynthia Ann Loughery entered the U.S. Army on 12 November 2003. She attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC. Upon graduation, she attended Advance Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, TX. Her first assignment was 526 BSB of the 2/502nd 101s Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY where she served as a valued member of the Treatment Platoon from June 2004 to Oct 2010. During this time she deployed in support of OIF 05-06 and OIF 07-08. She was later assigned to the IRACH at Fort Knox, KY as the Patient Administration NCOIC where she supervised 77 Government Employees and five Soldiers.

 Loughery joined the U.S Army Recruiting Command in 2011 and was assigned to the Charleston Recruiting Center of the 1st Medical Recruiting Battalion as a Health Care Recruiter. In 2014, Loughery was assigned to Boston Medical Recruiting Center as the Center Leader where she served for almost 3 years. In 2017 she was assigned the 3rd Medical Recruiting Battalion as the Senior Operations NCOIC. In 2019 Loughery was assigned as the First Seargeant for the Clarion Recruiting company where she served for 26 months. For 25 months she had the opportunity to serve as the Senior Military Science Instructor for WVU ROTC. Following she served as the Operations Sergeant Major for Atlanta Recruiting BN.

Loughery’s Military education includes; Warrior Leaders Course (Commandants list, Iron Soldier), Advanced Leaders Course (Commandants List, Iron Soldier), Senior Leaders Course (Commandants list and Iron Soldier), Master Leaders Course, Recruiting Company Commander and First Sergeant Course, Guidance Counselor Operations Course (Iron Soldier), Emergency Medical Technician - AMB Course, Army Recruiting Course, Health Care Recruiting Course (Iron Soldier), Center Leader Course (Iron Soldier), Command Faculty Development Instructor Course (CFDIC) and Unit Preventions Leader Course. Sergeant Major Academy Class 73 (DL49).

She has received her Bachelor’s Degree from Post University with a Major in Business Management. Her awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal ( 3 oak leaf cluster), Army Commendation Medal (5th oak leaf cluster), Army Achievement Medal (4th oak leaf cluster), Meritorious Unit Commendation (2 oak leaf cluster), Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), Gold Recruiting Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with 3 Combat Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Award), Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon (2th Award).
