Sgt. 1st Class Dowler serves on the United States 'As You Were' (AYW) Band where he shares his passion for the musical industry on and off the stage across the United States. Ultimately demonstrating that you can continue to serve and live out your passions. He enlisted in the Army in October of 2008 as a Musician (42R) and is the current audio technician and Operations Noncommissioned Officer for AYW.
Since his enlistment he has held numerous positions to include instrumentalist, Senior instrumentalist, Team Leader, Support NCO, and Operations NCO.
His previous duty stations have included: Fort McPherson, Georgia; Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Sgt. 1st Class Dowler was selected as part of the U.S. Army AYW bank in January of 2022. He has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (9), Army Good Conduct Ribbon (4), Army Superior Unit Award (1), Air Assault Badge, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge. He has also earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern, Mississippi in January 2002.
During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and sharing his love for music with the youth by performing at high schools and colleges across the United States.
