Cpt. Joshua Raftopoulos assumed command of the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) on 14 Sept 2023.
Cpt. Raftopoulos commissioned from Officer Candidate school as an Infantry officer in 2019 and completed the Infantry Officer Basic Leadership course at Fort Moore. He was assigned to the 197th BDE as a One Station Unit Training (OSUT) Platoon Leader. Following his time with the 197th he spent 14 months as a Bradley Platoon Leader for 1st Armor Division, during which he rotated through the Korea Peninsula on the final ABCT mission in the INDO-PACOM theater. Most recently, he completed his transition to the Military Intelligence Corp by completing the Captains Career Course in Fort Huachuca. CPT Raftopoulos earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Political Science from Wichita State University.
