Welcome Packet
Welcome to the 6th Recruiting Brigade team – “Outriders”! On behalf of the entire Brigade, we would like to welcome you and your Family. Our Brigade’s vision is simple: Be a team of world-class talent scouts and Army ambassadors in the towns we live in.
Though the Brigade headquarters is in North Las Vegas, our seven battalions recruit across the largest geographic region of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, covering the 11 most-western states including OCONUS locations in Hawaii, Alaska, Korea, Japan and the Pacific Islands of Guam, Samoa and the Marshall Islands. No matter which of our seven Battalions you are assigned to, you are close to some of the most captivating and majestic wonders of the world with some exciting and spectacular activities to keep you busy during your leisure time.
If you are moving here from a previous recruiting assignment welcome to the West! If you’re new to recruiting, you’ll find this assignment is unique in many ways and one that we hope you and your family will enjoy. Whether new or returning, we want to ensure your transition to the Brigade is as smooth and stress free as possible.
During your transition, your sponsor, the Soldier and Family Assistance Program Manager (SFAPM), and your Chain of Command will assist you in making a safe and smooth transition. Because we are so dispersed your single most important resource is your sponsor. Typically, a new Soldier will spend at least one day in-processing at the Battalion Headquarters before continuing on to their final duty location. Your sponsor will be someone from your recruiting area who has firsthand knowledge of the community and will assist you through your PCS until you are comfortably settled.
In addition, the 6th Recruiting Brigade website 6th Recruiting Brigade (army.mil); there is an abundance of relocation-specific web sites and resources available to assist you, too. MilitaryOneSource, http://www.militaryonesource.mil/moving and Military Installations, http://www.militaryinstallations.dod.mil, provide relocation tools and information on over 250 installations to include your new USAREC Battalion. If this is your first PCS, Plan My Move (PMM) is another valuable resource with detailed to-do lists, checklists, contact information, and much more.
We look forward to serving with you in the best Brigade in USAREC. Outriders!
