Each birthday decorated with camouflage, toy soldiers filled his childhood, and every Halloween, he donned the uniform of the soldier he knew he would one day become.

While returning to the Bethlehem Army Recruiting Station after a community engagement, Staff Sgt. Keyes and fellow recruiters encountered a man standing unsteadily in the walkway. Within moments, the man collapsed.

U.S. Army Fitness Challenge Energizes Battalion Area High Schools

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Over two weeks of high-energy teamwork, mentorship, and competition, the U.S. Army Fitness Challenge reached more than 1,800 students across six Kansas City Battalion area high schools. Organized by the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion – Kansas City, the events emphasized discipline, leadership, and service while generating over 600 age-qualified leads and multiple follow-up appointments.
