Pennsylvania Soldiers lead the way in lifesaving readiness

By Cynthia J. Stephenson Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion Public Affairs

Now certified as instructors, these Soldiers are poised to lead life-saving training across schools, Future Soldiers, and throughout their local communities. Whether it’s teaching life-saving techniques in a classroom or providing direct assistance during emergencies, they are equipped to make a real difference when it matters most.

This initiative empowers Soldiers to go beyond personal readiness, focusing on strengthening the safety and preparedness of the communities they serve. By teaching these critical skills, they help others develop the confidence and capability to act during emergencies, ensuring a broader network of trained individuals ready to respond.

Through their leadership, these Soldiers are building a culture of readiness, where the ability to save lives and respond swiftly is shared across communities. Their commitment to teaching and service exemplifies the Army's core value of "selfless service," as they make a lasting impact that extends far beyond their uniform.

William Messick, Anthony Rader, Dillon Vosburg, Owen Downes, Brian Swantek, Brett Keyes, and Joseph Perez stand as a testament to the Army’s enduring commitment to always be prepared and to serve when it matters most.
