FORT KNOX, Ky. –
The U.S. Army currently is offering an enlistment bonus of up to $10,000 for individuals who agree to begin training within 30 days of signing an enlistment contract.
This is an increase in $1,000 from the incentives announced in January, and the full bonus is now open for 60 different jobs, which is double the previous number. Some of the newly eligible careers include helicopter repairers, cyber operations specialists and construction equipment repairers.
More than 60 other career options have quick-ship bonuses from $2,000 to $6,000 covering a wide range of career fields from technical engineers and combat medics to culinary specialists and truck drivers
The quick-ship bonus can be added on top of other incentives being offered. Applicants have the potential to receive up to $50,000 total in combined enlistment incentives, depending on the career choice, length of enlistment and individual qualifications. Among the jobs with the largest potential for bonuses are Special Forces, signal intelligence voice interceptor and air missile defense crewmember.
Soldiers also receive other standard Army benefits like housing allowances, health coverage, college tuition and family support services.
