Since 1959, the U.S. Army Parachute Team, known as the Golden Knights, has served as elite aerial ambassadors for the U.S. Army, combining precision skydiving with disciplined teamwork to engage communities across the nation and around the world. The team is composed of several specialized elements, including the Black and Gold demonstration teams, which conduct precision parachute demonstrations at airshows, sporting events, and community venues; the Tandem Team, which introduces first-time jumpers, civic leaders, and distinguished visitors to military freefall; and the Competition Team, which represents the Army in national and international parachuting events. Supporting all jump operations is Team 6, the aviation detachment responsible for aircraft operations and mission execution. Behind the scenes, the Headquarters Section manages leadership, organization, scheduling, training, logistics, operations, and media relations, ensuring every mission is executed safely and professionally. Together, these elements sustain the winning culture and attention to detail that allow the Golden Knights to perform at the highest level while representing the United States Army at home and abroad.
