Gwinnett County Police Chief Brett West recognized two Buford Recruiting Station noncommissioned officers May 24 for actions they took to save a life and detain an armed suspect last month. Staff Sgt. Richard Borges and Sgt. Austin Childers were in a local store April 5 when they heard gunfire. They ran to the parking lot that had been shot multiple times after an apparent road rage incident.
