Command Sgt. Maj. Syphonia D. Leggette is a native of Conway, South Carolina. She assessed in the United States Army Reserves in June 1999 as a 68E Dental Specialist and completed Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Advanced Individual Training at Sheppard Air Force Base Wichita Falls, Texas.
Leggette’s medical assignments include the 885th Medical Company Florence, South Carolina, 7226th Medical Support Unit Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and the 7236th Medical Support Unit Fort Bragg, North Carolina where she served as a Dental Specialist.
Leggette became a detailed Recruiter in 2007 and was assigned to the Columbia Recruiting Battalion, Columbia Recruiting Company, Rock Hill Recruiting Station in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Her subsequent USAREC assignments include: Station Commander of the Myrtle Beach Recruiting Station, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (Florence Recruiting Company), First Sergeant of the Warner Robins Recruiting Company, Warner Robins, Georgia (Atlanta Recruiting Battalion), Army Reserves Operations Sergeant Major 6th Recruiting Brigade Las Vegas, Nevada, and Training Management NCOIC of the Recruiting and Retention College, Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Leggette is a graduate of various military courses to include: Warrior Leader Course, Advance Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, USAREC First Sergeant Course, Army Recruiter Course, Station Commander Course, Basic Instructor Course, Guidance Counselor Operations Course, Master Resilience Training Course, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 68 resident course) Fort Bliss, TX. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Life Coaching.

She is married to Reginal Leggette and they have six children Brandalon, Courtney, Dwayne, Adlih, Eviana, and Allston. She has one grandson Jaiden.
