Jacksonville Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Alejandro J. Campos

Command Sgt. Maj. Alejandro J. Campos was born in the Dominican Republic, joined the United States Army, and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Knox, Kentucky, where he was awarded Military Occupational Specialty as an Armor Crewman (19K).

Campos’ previous assignments include the 3rd Armor Cavalry Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado. He deployed on two occasions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 3rd ACR at Fort Carson, Colorado. Campos was selected to attend the US Army Recruiting Course with duty in New York City Recruiting Battalion at the Bay Ridge Recruiting Center in Brooklyn, New York. He was later re-classified and awarded the MOS 79R. He has held the Center Leader position in Bay Ridge, Newark, and East Orange. Command Sgt. Maj. Campos was selected to be a part of the Special Operation Recruiting Battalion stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. He was the recruiter for the 160th Special Operation Aviation Regiment (160TH SOAR), Special Forces, Warrant Officer, and Station Commander for the Special Operation Recruiting Station at Fort Carson, Colorado. He served for 24 months as the 1st Sgt. of the Colorado Springs Recruiting Company and was reassigned for another 12 months as the 1st Sgt. of the Jacksonville Recruiting Company. His was assigned as the Operations Sgt. Maj. of the Tampa Recruiting Battalion.

Campos is a graduate of the Sergeant Major Academy, Recruiting Company Commander First Sergeant Course, Senior Leaders Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Warrior Leaders Course, Center Leaders Course, Equal Opportunity Course, Sexual Harassment & Prevention Response Course, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, Basic Instructors Course, and the Army Recruiter Course.

Campos’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (5OLC), Army Commendation Medal (6OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal  (4 Combat Stars), Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Valorous Unit, Oversea Ribbon (Numeral 2), Combat Action Badge, the Gold Recruiters badge with 3 Sapphires, the Recruiter Ring, and the Glenn E. Morrell Award.

Command Sgt. Maj. Campos holds a master’s degree from the University of Texas El Paso and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Saint Joseph College in Long Island, New York.
