5th Recruiting Brigade Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Keith M. Nowicki

Command Sgt. Maj. Keith M. Nowicki is originally from Las Vegas. He enlisted in the Army in June 1998 and began his military career as an Infantryman. He attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia with subsequent assignments to Camp Casey, Korea and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

In September 2003, he attended the Army Recruiter Course and was assigned to the Kansas City Recruiting Battalion. In 2005, he reclassed to MOS 79R and become a permanent member of U.S. Army Recruiting Command; he has held positions from recruiter to battalion command sergeant major.

Nowicki served in four of eight the brigades in USAREC where he served in the following units: Kansas City Recruiting Battalion, Seattle Recruiting Battalion, the United States Army Recruiting and Retention College, the 6th Recruiting Brigade Headquarters, the United States Army Recruiting Command Headquarters, United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 70, Portland Recruiting Battalion, and the 2nd Medical Recruiting Battalion.

Nowicki earned selection to the commandant’s list for his academic performance at the Sergeants Major Academy.  He was recognized as the Distinguished Honor Graduate and Distinguished Leadership Awardee for his performance at the Senior Leaders Course, Iron Soldier Awardee at both the Master Trainers Course and the Guidance Counselor Operations Course. He was selected as the Seattle Recruiting Battalion Station Commander of the year 2009, the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce Employee of the year 2009, Seattle Recruiting Battalion First Sergeant of the year 2017 and the 6th Recruiting Brigade First Sergeant of the year 2017.  He is a graduate of all levels of the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development System.

Nowicki’s civilian education includes a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Excelsior University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Post University.

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal – 3rd OLC; Army Commendation Medal – 7th OLC; Army Achievement Medal – 6th OLC; the Gold Recruiter Badge w/ 3 sapphires; and the Coveted Gold Recruiter Ring. He is also a member of the Glen E. Morrell order of Recruiting Excellence.
