Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher L. Miller, best known to his Family and friends as Chris, is from Greenville, Michigan. He enlisted into the United States Army in May 2001 and attended Infantry One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He first served as a Rifleman, Machine Gunner, Team Leader, and Squad Leader in C 2/327th Infantry Battalion, 101st Airborne Division. He has two 12-month combat tours to Iraq, as part of OIF I and OIF IV.
Miller was assigned to the Dallas Recruiting Battalion, Waco Recruiting Company in 2007. He served as a detailed recruiter, and station commander while Waco Recruiting Company. In 2010, he was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he served as a senior drill sergeant. In 2012, he was assigned to the Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion, Grand Rapids Company as a station commander. In 2015, he was assigned to the Portland Recruiting Battalion, Guam Company as a Station Commander. In 2017, he assumed responsibility as the Buffalo Company first sergeant. In 2020, he assumed responsibility as the Guam Recruiting Company First Sergeant. Following the completion of his first sergeant duties 2021, Miller attended the United Stated Army Sergeant’s Major Academy (Class 72) at Ft. Bliss, Texas with a follow-on assignment as the Battalion Operations sergeant major in Tampa, Florida.
Miller’s Military education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Education System, Field Sanitation Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Combat Live Savers Course, Air Assault School, Modern Army Combative Course (Level 1 and 2), Drill Sergeant School, Army Recruiter Course, Station Commander Course, Recruiting Company Commander and First Sergeant Course. His Military Awards include: Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, the Valorous Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Gold Recruiter Badge with three sapphires, the Recruiter Ring of Excellence, the Glen E. Morrell Award. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership.
