Lt. Col. Vincent Burlazzi

Lt. Col. Vincent F. Burlazzi earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University and was commissioned in the United States Army Military Police Corps in May 2007. Upon commissioning, Lt. Col. Burlazzi was assigned to the 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA. He held several platoon leader positions - including PSD, Recon, Support, Military Police, and Combat Engineer (Route Clearance) – and deployed twice in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.

Following his promotion to Captain, he served as a Battle Captain for 1-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Advise and Assist Brigade and as the Assistant S3 in the 1-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and OPERATION NEW DAWN.

He completed the Military Police Captain Career Course, Fort Leonard Wood, MO and earned a Master’s Degree in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University (2011). He then served as Assistant S3, 91st Military Police Battalion, Fort Drum, NY.

Lt. Col. Burlazzi commanded the 23rd Military Police Company, Fort Drum, NY and deployed his company in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Following command, he was selected to serve as a Small Group Leader at the United States Army Military Police School, instructing MP BOLC. He was later selected for the JCS/OSD/ARSTAF Internship program (Bradley Fellowship), through which he earned a Master’s Degree in Policy Management from Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy (2016). As part of his fellowship, he served as a Strategic Planner on the Joint Staff J-7 Directors Action Group and Staff Action Officer in the HQDA G-3/5/7 DAMO-TR.

His MP field grade assignments include the Brigade Training Officer for the 42D Military Police Brigade; Battalion Executive Officer for the 22D Military Police Battalion (CID), and Group S3 for the 6th MP Group (CID), all on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.

Most recently, Lt. Col. Burlazzi served as the first Command Inspector General for the Security Force Assistance Command, Fort Bragg, NC.

His awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation (1 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal with 3 Campaign Stars, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), the NATO Medal, the Joint Staff Badge, the Army Staff Badge, the Inspector General Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge. His foreign awards include the Romanian General Staff Medal of Honor and the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (Gold).
