Syracuse Recruiting Battalion Commander

Lt. Col. Gregory Humble

Lt. Col. Gregory Humble of Newport, RI received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Signal Corps on 4 May 2001. A distinguished military graduate, he graduated from Radford University in Radford, Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He has a Master of Arts degree from Webster University in Information Technology Management and Master of Arts from the Command and General Staff College in General Studies. Lt. Col. Humble’s military education includes: Signal Officer Basic Course, Signal Captains Career Course, Recruiting Company Commander Course, Intermediate Level Education, and the Basic Airborne Course. He is coming to the Syracuse Recruiting Battalion after serving as the Core Services Project Coordinator for Headquarters, Allied Command Transformation, North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Norfolk, Virginia.

Lt. Col. Humble previously served in key operational, staff, and command positions to include platoon leader and company executive officer Delta Company, 123d Signal Battalion, Fort Stewart, GA; Battalion S6, 92nd Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), Fort Stewart, GA; Company Commander, Special Troops Battalion of the 3d Sustainment Brigade, Fort Stewart, Georgia; commander of the Charlotte Recruiting Company, Charlotte, NC; Brigade S6 for the 173rd IBCT (A) in Vicenza, Italy; and Synchronization and Operations Branch Chief, Mission Command Division, HQDA, G-3/5/7 at the Pentagon.  His operational experience includes three deployments to Iraq and one deployment to Afghanistan.

His decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Army Staff Badge and the Parachutist Badge.
