Staff Sgt. Zahra Fuentes joined the Army May 2015 and went to Fort Jackson, South Carolina for basic training. She graduated from Advanced Individual Training (AIT) September 2015 at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia.
After completing basic training and AIT, she was assigned to 5-25 Field Artillery in Fort Polk, Louisiana starting her career as a unit supply specialist. She was deployed in 2017-2018 to Iraq with 5-25 Field Artillery. In 2019, she PCS'd from Fort Polk and was assigned to 55th Signal Company (Combat Camera) where she was the Unit Supply NCO and the CIF NCO. After that She was assigned to 1st Signal Brigade in South Korea from 2021 to 2023. During that time, she was the Supply NCOIC, Platoon Sergeant and UPL. She was reassigned to 304th ESB-E a battalion on 1st Signal Brigades as the PBO NCO and HHC’s Victim Advocate in 2022.
Fuentes is now assigned to U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit as the S4 NCO.
