Lt. Col. Jason S. Kim assumed command of the 2nd Medical Recruiting Battalion June 15, 2023. Kim is originally from Diamond Bar, California. He earned an active-duty direct appointment in 2011 and was commissioned into the Medical Service Corps as a 67E (Pharmacy Officer).
Kim attended Creighton University earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He later attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California where he earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and later earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Kansas. He completed two residencies in clinical pharmacology and health systems administration with the University of Kansas Health System.
Kim has served in various leadership roles, serving as Chief of Pharmacy at Fort Polk, Louisiana, Fort Drum, New York and Wiesbaden, Germany. He served as the Division Pharmacist for the 10th Mountain Division from 2011-2016 and was Chief Pharmacy Resident at The University of Kansas Health System. Kim served as the Brigade Executive Officer for Task Force Med in Baghdad, Iraq and as the theater pharmacist during Operation Inherent Resolve in 2020. In 2021, he served with the Defense Health Agency as the Chief of the Medical Logistics Pharmacy Branch. Kim most recently served as the Executive Officer to the 23rd and 24th Chief of the U.S. Army Medical Corps.
Kim is the recipient of the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), and the Air Assault and Expert Field Medical Badge.
