Col. Lee S. Wallace is originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is a proud graduate from B Co, 2-58 Infantry completing Infantry OSUT and the Basic Bradley Course October 1997. Additionally, he is a Distinguished Military Graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi Reserve Officer’s Training Corps and has served in a variety of operational and training assignments over the past 26 years.
He has deployed to Kuwait, twice to Iraq, and four times to Afghanistan in support of the Global War on Terrorism. His operational assignments include: Bradley Fighting Vehicle Platoon Leader for A Company, 1-15 Infantry, Ranger Rifle Platoon Leader for A Company, 3/75 Ranger, Air Assault Rifle Company Commander for B Company, 1-506 Infantry, Ranger Company Commander for A Company, 1/75 Ranger, Battalion Operations Officer for 2-23 Infantry, twice as a Battalion Executive Officer for 2-3 Infantry and 4/3 Infantry, Brigade Executive Officer for the 3d US Infantry Regiment, The Old Guard, Battalion Commander of 1-19th Infantry Regiment and most recently as the Battalion Commander of the US Army Recruiting Battalion, Seattle, Washington.
His training and enterprise assignments include Air Operations Officer for the US Army Ranger Training Brigade, Instructor and Operations Officer for the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader Course, Deputy Operations Officer for the Mission Command Center of Excellence, and Deputy Director of Headquarters. Department of the Army Protocol.
He has earned the Airborne Senior Parachutist Wings, Pathfinder Badge, Ranger Tab, Combat and Expert Infantry Badges, and holds an associate degree from Southwest Mississippi Community College, a bachelor's in psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi, a Master’s in Adult Occupational Therapy, and Continuing Education from Kansas State University, and a master's in strategic studies from the United States Army War College.
Wallace is a recipient of the 2008 General Douglas A. MacArthur Leadership Award, the Army Staff Identification Badge, Basic Recruiter Badge, and the U.S. Army's Grateful Nation Award winner for 2015 from the Jewish institute for National Security Affairs. Additionally, Wallace is a Distinguished Member of both the 506th and 58th Infantry Regiments.
He is a recipient of the Bronze Star for Valor, Bronze Star for Combat Service, Purple Heart, six Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, five Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and numerous campaign and service medals.
