Medical Recruiting Brigade Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Louis Sidney, Jr.

Command Sgt. Maj. Louis C. Sidney, Jr is a native of Houston, TX.  After completing BCT at Ft Sill, OK and AIT at Ft Benjamin Harrison, IN in 1993, he was awarded MOS 73C (Finance Specialist).  In 2004, he was reclassified to MOS 79R (Recruiter).

Sidney’s assignments include:  Out-processing Clerk, 175th Finance BN, Korea; Travel Clerk, 215th Finance BN, Fort Hood, TX;  Military Pay NCOIC, 713th MI GRP, United Kingdom;  Detailed Recruiter, Oklahoma City Recruiting BN, OK;  Travel NCOIC, Fort Lewis, WA;  Corinth Recruiting Station Commander, Jackson Recruiting BN;  Columbus Recruiting Station Commander, Baton Rouge Recruiting BN; Ruston Recruiting Station Commander, Baton Rouge Recruiting BN;  Jackson Metro Recruiting Station Commander, Baton Rouge Recruiting BN;  Jackson Recruiting Company First Sergeant, Jackson, MS, Baton Rouge Recruiting BN;  Battalion Senior Master Trainer, Houston Recruiting Battalion;  Tyler Recruiting Company First Sergeant, Tyler, TX, Dallas Recruiting BN; Operations Sergeants Major, Central California Recruiting BN; Battalion Command Sergeants Major, Columbus Recruiting BN.     


Sidney has completed all levels of primary military education to include being a graduate of the Sergeants Major Course Class 68, he has also attended several other professional military training courses to include the Brigade and Battalion Pre-Command Courses; Brigade and Battalion Command Sergeants Major Development Courses; DA First Sergeants Course, Recruiting Commander/ First Sergeants Course, Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Basic Leaders Course, Station Commanders Course, SHARP Course, Master Resilience Course, and the Army Recruiting Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies from University of Arkansas-Grantham, as well as an Associate degree in Accounting from Rose State College. 

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (5th award), the Army Commendation Medal (4th award), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (3rd award), the Good Conduct Medal (9th award), the National Defense Service Medal (1 gold star), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 5). Sidney has earned the Gold Recruiter Badge, the Recruiter Ring, and has been inducted into the Glen E. Morrell Order of Recruiting Excellence. Sidney is a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
