Sgt. 1st Class Jeffrey Holguin

Sgt. 1st Class Jeffrey G. Holguin was born in Fullerton, California and grew up in nearby Yorba Linda, California. He joined the Army following graduation from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a Bachelor of Science degree in health care science.

Holguin shipped to OSUT at Fort Benning September 2006. Upon graduation from Basic Training in January 2007, Holguin was assigned to the United States Army Marksmanship Unit which is also at Fort Benning (Moore).

In 2008, Holguin earned the honor of representing the United States of America and the Army in the summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China, finishing 4th in Men’s Double Trap. The following year he won the silver medal at the 2009 World Championships in Maribor, Slovenia. In 2014, Holguin won the Gold Medal at the Tucson World Cup and a bronze medal in Munich, followed by another Gold at the World Cup Finals in Gabala, Azerbaijan. He won the first World Cup of 2015 in Acapulco, Mexico and Silvers at the World Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus and World Cup Finals in Rome, Italy in 2016. He has been ranked #1 in the world three times in his career in Double Trap.

Holguin graduated from Senior Leadership Course, Advanced Leadership Course, Advanced Situational Awareness Basic, Unit Prevention Leader training, Combat Life Saver, Warrior Leader Course, and Comprehensive Soldier Fitness Performance and Resilience Enhancement Program Leader Development Course.
