Staff Sgt. Sagen Maddalena

Staff Sgt. Sagen Maddalena grew up in Groveland, California. She graduated from Keyes to Learning Charter School in 2012 and
attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management
in May 2018.

Maddalena enlisted on active duty in March 2019 and was assigned to the US Army Marksmanship Team International Team as a shooter/instructor.
Maddalena has had a distinguished shooting career before joining the Army. She was an eight time All American
(2014-2018) with the UAF rifle team, World Championship team member 2014 and 2018, President’s 100 (2010)
and Distinguished Rifleman (2011).

Maddalena won a 2024 Olympic Silver medal in the Women's 3-Position Rifle Individual, setting an Olympic Qualification record in the event.
Her military schools include: Cannon Crewmember, Fort Sill (2019).
