5th Medical Recruiting Battalion Commander

Lt. Col. Matthew S. Moore

Lt. Col. Matthew Moore currently serves as the deputy consultant for 70A Corps and serves on the board of South Texas Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He joins the 5th Medical Recruiting Battalion team from Medical Readiness Command, West here at JBSA.

Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology/Occupational Health from the University of Kentucky, and dual-master's degrees in health care and business administration from Baylor University. He was also selected to attend a one-year administrative fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.

Moore entered the Army through the Reserve Officer Training Corps Program in 2007 as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Kentucky. LTC Moore is a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity and Pershing Rifles at the University of Kentucky and has the honor of being selected as a Kentucky Colonel. LTC Moore is also an honor graduate from Command General Staff College. LTC Moore is currently a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Silver
Caduceus Society, and an Iron Major.

Moore’s previous assignments include: Executive Officer/Secretary General Staff, Readiness Health Command-Central, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas; Deputy Commander for Administration, Raymond W. Bliss Health Clinic, Ft. Huachuca, Arizona; Chief of Managed Care and Clinical Operations, Martin Army Community Hospital, Ft. Moore, Georgia; Company Commander and Administrative Officer for the Department of Primary Care, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; Assistant S-3 and Charlie Med XO, 402D Brigade Support Battalion, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT), 2ID (Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan); Medical Platoon Leader, 8-1 Cavalry Squadron, 5th SBCT, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Moore’s awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (three Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (four Oak Leaf Clusters), Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Army Superior Unit Award. He has been awarded the Combat Medic Badge, Expert Field Medic Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge and is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3).
