2nd Medical Recruiting Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Eric R. Blyberg

Command Sgt. Maj. Eric R. Blyberg is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1996 as an Infantryman and attended OSUT at Ft. Benning, Georgia.


Blyberg's early assignments include Assistant Gunner and Grenadier in the 1/503rd INF, Camp Casey, Korea; Rifleman and Team Leader in the 3/187th INF, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; Scout RTO, Team Leader and Squad Leader in the 2/27th INF, Schoefield Barracks, Hawai'i. Upon assignment to the United States Army Recruiting Command, Blyberg served as a detailed Recruiter and Station Commander in the Columbus Recruiting Battalion; Station Commander in Chicago Battalion and Milwaukee Battalion; Station Commander and Master Trainer in Los Angeles Battalion as well as the First Sergeant for the San Gabriel Valley Company in Los Angeles Battalion; First Sergeant of the Augusta Company (Columbia Battalion), Operations NCOIC in Miami Battalion, student at the Sergeants Major Academy, Ft. Bliss, Texas;  Operations Sergeant Major for the Richmond Recruiting Battalion; Command Sergeant Major of the Denver Recruiting Battalion and Operations Sergeant Major for the 3rd Recruiting Brigade.

 

Blyberg is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 68), Recruiting Company Commander/First Sergeant Course, Senior Leader's Course, Advanced Leader's Course and the Basic Leader's Course.  He is a graduate of the Army's Basic Recruiter Course, Station Commander's Course, Guidance Counselor Operations Course, Battle Staff Course, Master Resiliency Training Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Air Assault Course, and the EMT-B course. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from DeVry University (Addison, IL), a Master of Business Administration from DeVry University (Addison, IL) and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas-El Paso. He also holds Graduate Certificates in Project Management and Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt) from Villanova University. 

 

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Recruiter Ring and the Glen E. Morrell award for Recruiting excellence. He is authorized to wear the Expert Infantry Badge and the Air Assault badge.
