Brig. Gen. Eric Van Den Bosch

Brig. Gen. Eric J. Van Den Bosch is the Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Recruiting Command, with experience across tactical, strategic, Army enterprise, joint, special operations, and coalition environments. He previously served as the Commanding General, U.S. Army 7th Signal Command (Theater) and Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, to provide communications support across all installations in CONUS.

Van Den Bosch has over 30 years in the Army and experience in Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Information (C4I) Systems enabled by degrees in Electrical Engineering, Master of Business Administration in Information Technology Management, and master’s in strategic studies.

After graduating from The Ohio State University in 1995, Van Den Bosch served a branch detail to Field Artillery. In 1997, he served in Training/Operations for 516th Signal Brigade, as a Staff Officer for 25th Infantry Division G-6, and as Battalion S-6 for 1-27 Infantry Regiment in Hawaii. Assigned to Fort Bragg and USASOC in 2001, he was Company Commander in both 4th PSYOP Group and 112th Signal Battalion (Special Operations) (Airborne), and later S-6 for 4th PSYOP Group.

In 2008, he served in DISA supporting CENTCOM in Joint NETOPS and Network Defense stationed at MacDill AFB. In 2011, he was assigned to the HQDA CIO/G-6, as Deputy Chief, and later Chief of the Enterprise Architecture Division focused on the Army Network Plan and IT Reform. In 2014, he commanded the 39th Signal Battalion supporting U.S. Forces in northern Europe including direct support to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe and Nuclear Surety mission.

In 2017, he was assigned as the Executive Officer for the CECOM CG and Senior Commander for Aberdeen Proving Ground before assignment in 2018 to XVIII Airborne Corps as the Chief Information Officer and G-6 at Fort Bragg, deploying to Iraq as the Commander of the Erbil Air Base and Director of CJTF OIR’s Kurdistan Coordination Center. In 2021, he was the Chief of Staff for Army Futures Command’s Network Cross Functional Team, at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
