Lt. Col. Nicole Hash

Lt. Col. Nicole Hash hails from Sandstone, Minnesota and enlisted into the Minnesota Army National Guard in February 2001 and served as an intel analyst assigned to E Battery 216th Air Defense Artillery Battalion in Cloquet, MN. She commissioned from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2007 into the Military Intelligence (MI) branch.

Lt. Col. Hash previous assignments include the 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team (BCT) 4th Infantry Division at Fort Cavazos, TX and later Fort Carson, CO.  Within 1STB 1BCT 4ID, Lt. Col. Hash served as the Battalion Assistant Intelligence Officer in southwest Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom (2008-2009), as an MI company executive officer at Fort Carson, and as Brigade Assistant S2 in Kandahar, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom (2010-2011). Following the MI Captain’s Career Course, she served as the S2 of 2BSTB, 325 Airborne Infantry Regiment, and the operations officer of the 319th MI Battalion and later commanded Charlie Company, 319th MI BN  (HUMINT). In 2016, she served as an Observer, Coach and Trainer in 1-360 Infantry Regiment at Fort Bliss, El Paso before attending Advanced Civil Schooling at Indiana University in 2017 and the Command and General Staff Officer’s Course at WHINSEC in Fort Moore, GA in 2018. She reported to 504th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade at Fort Cavazos, TX in 2019, where she served as the Brigade S2 and later the 303d Military Intelligence Battalion’s operations officer and executive officer. Her most recent assignment was as a US Army Goodpaster Fellow at Boston University.

Lt. Col. Hash’s military education includes the US Army Airborne School, the Tactical Intelligence Analyst’s Course, Military Intelligence Basic Officer’s Course and Career Course, the J2X course, UAS Leaders’ Course, Anti-Terrorism Officer Course, Command and General Staff College at the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC).

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Spanish and Russian from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Arts in International Relations and Security from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, a Master of Arts in Russian and East European Studies from Indiana University, a Master of Military Arts and Science from the US Army Command and General Staff College and is currently a PhD Candidate in Emerging Media Studies at Boston University. She is also a Firefighter Level I graduate.

Her awards include the Bronze Star Medal (two award), the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), and the Army Commendation Medal (two awards), the Operation Iraqi Freedom (two campaigns), Operation Enduring Freedom (one campaign), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Parachutist Badge, the German Armed Forces Badge (gold award), and the Reserve Overseas Training ribbon.
