Command Sergeant Major Zachery Lee Haase Sr. is a native of Vancouver, Washington. He joined the Army on Oct. 01, 2003, and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, GA. His assignments include the 1-17 IN BN of the 172nd SBCT at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, where he served as a Fire Team Leader. During this time he deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom 05-06. The 2nd HHC AR BN with the 1st ID, at Fort Riley, KS, where he served as a Squad Leader. During this time, he deployed in support of OIF 09-10. And the 3rd HHC IN BN of the 25th ID at Schofield Barracks, HI, where he served as a Platoon Sergeant and later became the Assistant SFA Operations Sergeant. During this time, he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 11-12.
CSM Haase joined the U.S. Army Recruiting Command in 2013 and was assigned to the Merrillville Recruiting Station of the Chicago recruiting BN, 3rd Recruiting BDE as a recruiter. In 2016, he was assigned to the Merced Recruiting Station of the Central California Recruiting Battalion, 6th Recruiting BDE as a Station Commander. In 2020, he served as the first sergeant for the Bakersfield Recruiting Company, Central California Recruiting BN. Following, he served as the Operations Sergeant Major for the Baltimore Recruiting Battalion.
His military and civilian education includes; Sergeants Major Academy, Master Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Basic Leaders Course (Commandants list), Recruiting Company Commander and First Sergeants Course, Center Leaders Course (Commandants list), and the Army Recruiting Course. CSM Haase also holds an associate in science degree from Pierce College.
His awards include; Bronze Star Medal (1 bronze oak leaf cluster), Meritorious Service Medal (1 bronze oak leaf cluster), Army Commendation Medal (1 bronze oak leaf cluster), Army Achievement Medal (4 bronze oak leaf cluster), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with 4 Combat Stars, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 Combat Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (5th Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th Award), NATO Medal, Gold Army Recruiter Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge. CSM Haase is married to Mrs. Heather Haase, they have four children Zachery Jr. 23, Mackenzie 21, Allycia 13, and Damien 11.
