Minneapolis Recruiting Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Clint M. Clover

Command Sgt. Maj. Clint M. Clover enlisted in the U.S. Army as an infantryman on Jan. 14, 2004, in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed basic and advanced individual training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and was assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vicenza, Italy.
His previous assignments include the 173rd Airborne Brigade, where he served in Chosen Company as a rifleman, machine gunner and team leader; the 82nd Airborne Division as a squad leader, platoon sergeant and operations noncommissioned officer in charge; the 3rd Recruiting Brigade, Chicago Battalion, as a recruiter and center leader; the 2nd Recruiting Brigade, Baton Rouge Battalion, as a station commander and interim first sergeant; and the 5th Recruiting Brigade, Kansas City Battalion, where he served as first sergeant for two companies simultaneously.
He has deployed on three combat tours: one in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, and two in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Command Sgt. Maj. Clover has held every leadership position from team leader to command sergeant major. His military education includes all levels of the noncommissioned officer professional development system, the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 73), the pre-command course, the Command Sergeants Major Development Course, Airborne School, Javelin Course, Army Recruiter Course, 42T Talent Acquisition Specialist Executive Course and the Army Combatives Course.
His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Arts in leadership and workforce development from the Command and General Staff College. He is also a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Clover’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal with V Device; Army Commendation Medal with one silver oak leaf cluster and one oak leaf cluster; Army Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters; Army Good Conduct Medal, sixth award; National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal with two bronze stars; Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one bronze star; Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 4; Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 5; Master Driver’s Badge; Army Recruiter Silver and Gold Badges; Combat Infantryman Badge; Expert Infantryman Badge; Master Combat Infantryman Badge; Army Basic Parachutist Badge; and Irish Foreign Parachutist Badge.
He is also a recipient of the U.S. Infantry’s Order of St. Maurice and the Order of St. Michael – Airborne.
