Command Sergeant Major Joshua A. Long is a native of Charleroi, PA and enlisted into the U.S Navy in 1997 as a submarine Machinist Mate and served on the USS Providence until 2002. He enlisted into the U.S Army in 2008 as a Watercraft Engineer and completed BCT at Fort Sill, OK. His first duty station was Fort Eustis, VA with 558th Transportation Co. In 2012, he was assigned as a recruiter in Uniontown, PA and went on to serve as a Station Commander in Bangor, ME. He then served as the Senior Guidance Counselor in Honolulu, HI followed by his tour as a First Sergeant in Indianapolis, IN. CSM Longs’ most recent duty assignment was as the Operations Sergeant Major for the Albany Recruiting Battalion.
CSM Long is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy-Class 75. He has completed all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System, First Sergeant’s course, Army Recruiter Course, Station Commander Course and Guidance Counselor Operations Course. CSM Long holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University.
