Raleigh Recruiting Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Robert White

Command Sergeant Major Robert White is a native of Syracuse, Kansas. He enlisted in the United States Army in March 2005 and completed One Station Unit Training as an Infantryman at Fort Benning. Upon completion of initial entry training, he was assigned to units at Fort Bragg, where he served in leadership positions of increasing responsibility.

In 2007, CSM White deployed in support of combat operations to Afghanistan, where he distinguished himself through exceptional leadership, discipline, and dedication to mission accomplishment and Soldier welfare. Following his deployment, he transitioned to the U.S. Army Recruiting Command in 2009, beginning a highly successful career dedicated to shaping the next generation of Soldiers.

Throughout his recruiting career, CSM White has served with distinction as a Recruiter, Station Commander, First Sergeant, Senior Master Trainer, Operations Sergeant Major, and most recently as the 79 series Career Management Field Proponent Sergeant Major. In each assignment, he demonstrated unmatched expertise in mentorship, training development, operational leadership, and talent management, directly shaping recruiting doctrine, policy execution, and professional development across the force.

CSM White is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 74. He has completed all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System, as well as the First Sergeant Course, Army Recruiter Course, Station Commander Course, Master Trainer Course, and Master Resilience Course. His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Science in Mental Health and Wellness, and he is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, further enhancing his ability to lead, develop, and care for Soldiers and families.

Command Sergeant Major White is recognized as a dynamic senior enlisted leader with a strong commitment to readiness, professionalism, and taking care of people. His leadership philosophy centers on disciplined training, ethical decision-making, and empowering subordinate leaders to build cohesive, lethal, and resilient teams.
