Lt. Col. Allen J. Luna is a native of Roy, Washington, and enlisted in the Army Reserve as an automated logistics specialist in October 2000. He received his commission from the University of Washington’s Army ROTC program in May 2004. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and was commissioned in the Regular Army as a Quartermaster officer. In 2015, he earned his master’s in business administration from Strayer University. His military education includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course and the Command and General Staff Officer Course.
His assignments include distribution platoon leader Echo Company, 4th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, from 2005 - 2007; support operations plans officer, 404th Aviation Support Battalion, 4th CAB, 4th ID at Fort Hood, Texas, from 2008 - 2009. He deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. He later served a tour in South Korea in the 194th Combat Service Support Battalion, 501st Sustainment Brigade as the Battalion sustainment planner and the Headquarters company commander from 2009 - 2013. He served as the aide de camp for Army Brig. Gen. Shapiro while assigned to Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 2013 - 2014. He would later work in the Clothing and Textile division as a customer operations specialist until 2015. He worked in the Army Pacific G4 at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, as an operations officer.
He then completed his key developmental assignment as the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team S4, 25th ID, and then served as the battalion executive officer for the Specials Troops Battalion, 8th Theater Sustainment Command. He would be assigned as the battalion executive officer at the 1-315th Brigade Support Battalion, 174th Infantry Brigade, 1st Army Division East at Fort Dix, New Jersey, from 2019 - 2021. He served another tour in South Korea to work as the plans, operations and exercise chief at 8th Army G4 in Camp Humphreys, South Korea. He was the brigade executive officer at Materiel Support Command- Korea at Camp Carroll, South Korea, from 2022 - 2023. His most recent assignment was the DLA distribution Tobyhanna, PA commander, from 2023 - 2025.
His awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with one-oak-leaf-cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with four-oak-leaf-cluster and Army Commendation Medal with four-oak-leaf-cluster.
