ABOUT US:

Headquartered in Denver, the battalion is one of the largest units within U.S. Army Recruiting Command, encompassing an area of more than 200,000 square miles. Overseeing operations across 39 recruiting centers located in Colorado; Nebraska; and parts of Wyoming, Denver Battalion’s primary mission is to discover and recruit the most qualified and eligible populations for service in the U.S. Army (active duty) and Army Reserve.

The responsibilities of the Denver Army Recruiting Battalion are many, but our primary reason for being is to recruit the highest quality individuals to meet the requirements of the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.

1st Sgt. Justin Loyd, candidate in the "First Sergeant of the Year" category for U.S. Army 3rd Recruiting Brigade's annual awards competition, sits in the hot seat during the interview portion of the board. Loyd was asked to prove his knowledge of Army policy and protocol by a panel of senior enlisted leaders during the competition held at 3rd Brigade headquarters in Fort Knox, Ky. August 6-7, 2025. This two-day grueling competition included physical fitness test and a ruck march. Loyd, the First Sergeant for the Cleveland Metro Recruiting Company, Cleveland Recruiting Battalion, was ultimately declared the winner.
