Command Sgt. Maj. Shedric Moody is a native of McLain, Mississippi. Moody entered the Army in November of 1992 as an Army Reservist. After completing OSUT at Ft Sill, Oklahoma, he was awarded MOS 13B (Artillery Cannon Crew Member). In May of 1995, he reclassified to 12B (Combat Engineer) and completed AIT in Devils Lake, North Dakota. Moody entered Recruiting Command in March 2005 and in 2008 reclassified to MOS 79R (Recruiter).
Moody’s assignments include: Cannon Crewmember, Combat Engineer Crew Member, Squad Leader, Team Leader, Ammunition Team Chief, Gunner, Section Chief, Gunnery Sgt., Platoon Sgt., and he has deployed to Iraq in 2003-2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with 1/37 FA, Ft. Lewis, Washington, Detailed Recruiter, Station Commander, Columbia Recruiting Battalion, Beaumont Recruiting Company 1st Sgt, Baybrook Recruiting Company 1st Sgt, Guidance Counselor; Houston Recruiting Battalion, Baton Rouge Recruiting Company1st Sgt. Operations Sgt. Maj. Baton Rouge Recruiting Battalion, Recruit the Recruiter NCOIC, Ft Knox KY, Senior Master Trainer and Operations Sgt. Maj., Atlanta Recruiting Battalion.
Moody’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (6th Award), Army Commendation Medal (7th Award), Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), Army Superior Unit Award (2nd Award), Good Conduct Medal (8th award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge and Certificate of Achievement (28). He has earned the Gold Recruiter Badge, Gold Recruiter Ring, the coveted Glen E. Morrell Ring for Recruiting Excellence, and is a recipient of the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara (Artillerymen).
