U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Action Shooting Team

Sgt. Jonathan Wiedell

Sgt. Jonathan Michael Wiedell was born and raised in Emily, Minnesota. He has been shooting competitively since he was 14. Wiedell was recruited by the Action Shooting team of the United States Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) after graduating from Lake Region Christian School in 2021. He then joined the Army in August 2021, and went to Fort Benning, Georgia for One Station Unit Training (OSUT) to become an 11C (Indirect Fire Infantryman). Wiedell reported to the USAMU at Fort Benning, Georgia. Since his assignment to the Action Shooting team, he has already established himself as a distinguished shooter.   

Wiedell’s awards include Army Service Ribbon, and National Defense Service Ribbon.
