Lt. Col. Zach Morris, a native of New York City, New York, has over 18 years of military experience and eight deployments. He deployed six times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 101st Airborne Division, 1st Armored Division, and the 75th Ranger Regiment. He also deployed to Europe with the 4th Infantry Division and to Africa with the 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB).
Morris earned a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy and holds two Master of Arts degrees from Georgetown University and the School of Advanced Military Studies. He has published over ten professional articles on a range of military topics in multiple forums. His military education includes the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, SERE-C, Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Maneuver Captain Career Course, Command and General Staff College, and the School of Advanced Military Studies.
His previous assignments include Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Battalion S4 in 1-506th Infantry in the 101st Airborne Division (2008-2011); Senior Platoon Trainer in C/2-11 IN at Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course (2011-2013); Commander of D/2-5 IN and HHC/1-37 AR in the 1st Armor Division (2013-2015); S35 and J35 of the 75th Ranger Regiment (2019-2020); Battalion S3 and XO of 1-8 IN in the 4th Infantry Division (2020-2022); Commander of A Company 1st Battalion 2d SFAB and Brigade Executive Officer 2d SFAB (2022-2025).
Morris currently serves as the New England Recruiting Battalion Commander, leading recruitment operations to enlist the most qualified men and women into the Active Army and U.S. Army Reserve. Their mission is to sustain a professional, all-volunteer force that ensures national security and readiness.
