Command Sgt. Maj. Jermaine L. Maddox hails from Columbus, GA. He enlisted in the Army at the age of 20 and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC. He completed Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, GA.
His assignment locations include Fort Bragg, NC; Montgomery, AL; High Point, NC; Tempe, AZ; Fort Bliss, TX; and Lakehurst, NJ.
CSM Maddox completed three combat deployments, participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn as a Senior Signal Support NCO. He performed duties as a Detail Recruiter, Assistant Station Commander, Station Commander, Company First Sergeant, and BN Operations Sergeant Major.
CSM Maddox’s military education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System. He is a graduate of Airborne School, Equal Opportunity Course, Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention Course, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Master Gunner Course, and Master Resiliency Trainer Course. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Purdue University Global. He has personal certifications as a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.CSM Maddox’s military awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (7th Award), Army Commendation Medal (9th Award), Army Achievement Medal (8th Award), Valorous Unit Award (2nd Award), Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (3 Combat Stars), Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 Combat Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and a NATO Medal.
