Staff Sgt. Kenneth Goss serves on the United States ‘As You Were’ Band, where he shares his passion for the musical industry on and off the stage across the United States. Ultimately demonstrating that you can continue to serve and live out your passions. He enlisted in the Army in June of 2006 as a musician (42R) and is the current drummer for AYW.
He has held numerous positions to include Team Leader, Squad Leader, Senior Musician, and Senior Support NCO.
His previous duty stations have included: the California Army National Guard, Fort Bliss, Texas, Yongsan Garrison, Republic of Korea, Camp Zama, Japan, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Staff Sgt. Goss was selected as part of the U.S. Army AYW band in August of 2023. SSG Goss has served 2 tours in Afghanistan and 1 tour in Iraq. He has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1), Meritorious Service Medal (1), Army Commendation Medal (4), Army Achievement Medal (9), and Army Good Conduct Ribbon (3).
During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and sharing his love for music with the youth by performing at high schools and colleges across the United States.
