SFC Gatlin serves on the United States 'As You Were' (AYW) band where she shares her passion for the musical industry on and off the stage across the United States. Ultimately demonstrating that you can continue to serve and live out your passions. She enlisted in the Army in 2006 as a musician (42R) and is the current lead singer of AYW. She has held numerous positions to include Team Leader, Squad Leader, Library NCO, Drill Sergeant and Operations NCO/Talent Management NCO.
Her previous duty stations have included: Fort Eustis, Virginia; Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Camp Humpherys, South Korea; Little Creek, Virginia; and Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Sgt. 1st Class Gatlin was selected as part of the U.S. Army Band AYW in July 2022. She has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (1), Army Commendation Medal (4), Army Achievement Medal (7), Navy Achievement Medal (1), Army Good Conduct Ribbon (5), and the Drill Sergeant Badge.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and sharing her love for music with the youth by performing at high schools and colleges across the United States.
