Sergeant Austin C. Odom

Sergeant Austin Odom was born and Raised in Benton, Arkansas. He has been shooting competitively since the age of 7, and has been shooting shotguns competitively since age 11. SGT Odom was recruited by the Shotgun team of the United States Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) after graduating from Benton High School in 2013. He then joined the Army in October 2013, and shipped off to Fort Benning, Georgia for One Station Unit Training (OSUT) to become an 11B (Infantryman). After graduating, SGT Odom reported to the USAMU at Fort Benning, Georgia.  SGT Odom resides on Fort Benning, Georgia and is Single. SGT Odom is currently serving as a Shooter/Instructor on the Shotgun Team but has also served as an S-3 Operations/Training-NCO during his time at the Unit.

His military awards include: Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Two Army Achievement Medals, Two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.

His Foreign awards include: A gold German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (GAFPB).

His military education includes: Combat life Saver, Combative’s Level 1, Basic Airborne Course (BAC), and the Basic Leader Course (BLC)
