Lt. Col. Keith Baranow hails from Honesdale, Pennsylvania. He initially entered the service in 1991 as an Infantryman in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He later transitioned to the Regular Army and served in a myriad of troop leading positons until receiving his commission from Officer Candidate School in 2001.

He also deployed in support of OP-ERATION ENDURING FREEDOM to Kabul Afghanistan as the Force Provost Marshal, Interna-tional Security Assistance Force and to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as High Value Detainee Detention Facility Officer-In-Charge, Joint Task Force-Guantanamo.
Baranow’s schools include, the Armor Officer Basic Course, Anti-Terrorism Program Manag-ers Course, Criminal Antiterrorism Police Information Management Course, Military Police Captain Career Course and Command and General Staff College. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Crim-inal Justice from Upper Iowa University and a master’s degree in Business and Organization Securi-ty from Webster University.
Baranow’s awards and decorations include, the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Ser-vice Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (6 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and Army Staff Badge.
