Lt. Col. Fredrick B. Parker


Lt. Col.  Fredrick Parker was born in Lewisville, Arkansas. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University. In 1998, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the Reserve Officers Training Corps. His military education includes Chemical Basic Course, Captains’ Career Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) II. He is also a graduate of the Army’s Technical Escort Course.

From 1998 to 2000, Parker served as the Battalion Chemical Officer for 1st Battalion 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment (Airborne). In 2000, he served as the Chemical Platoon Leader in HHC, 172nd Separate Infantry Brigade. Following the Chemical Corps Captains’ Career Course, Parker served as the NBC Detachment Commander, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2005, Parker commanded Echo Company, 3rd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment. In August 2008, LTC Parker assumed command of Alpha Company, 110th Chemical Battalion (Technical Escort) and deployed the first CBRNE Company Team in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Task Force Troy). During his deployment to Iraq, Parker was instrumental in the strategic force development of the first Iraqi Army Chemical Defense Company. Parker was an action officer on the 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review at Headquarters Department of the Army G-8 after successfully serving as the Executive Officer of Seattle Recruiting Battalion. His most recent assignment was with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency culminating as the Military Assistant to the Director of On-Site Inspection and Building Capacity Directorate. 

Parker’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War of Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War of Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Senior Parachutist Badge.

Parker has four children Quinton, Isaiah, Aminah and Breana. He is married to the former Donell Harmon.
