NEW YORK CITY RECRUITING BATTALION COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR

Command Sgt. Maj. Angela R. Indardeo

Command Sgt. Maj. Angela Indardeo, was born in Guyana, South America and immigrated to the United States of America in 1989, to live in Brooklyn, NY with her family.  She enlisted in the World’s greatest Army in 1997 from Fort Hamilton, NY as a Welder and later trained as a Machinist.  Command Sgt. Maj. Indardeo completed Basic Combat Training at Ft. Leonard-Wood, MO., skill training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD., and was DA selected to become an Army Recruiter, in 2002.

Prior to being assigned to the New York City “Empire” Battalion, Command Sgt. Maj. Indardeo was assigned to the Cleveland “Rock Star” Battalion; Operations Sergeant Major, Albany Recruiting Battalion; Senior Master Trainer, New York City Recruiting Battalion; First Sergeant of the New Orleans Recruiting Company; First Sergeant of the Tupelo Recruiting Company; Division Chief at the Recruiting and Retention College; Senior Instructor, Writer, Developer at the Recruiting and Retention School, Ft. Jackson; Recruiter and Station Commander within the New York City Recruiting Battalion; Welder and Machinist in Bravo Company 125th FSB, Fort Riley and the 11th Transportation Battalion, Fort Story, VA.

Command Sgt. Maj. Indardeo’s military education includes the Pre Command Course, USASMA Class #67, Battle Staff, Master Resiliency Trainer, Master Fitness Trainer, Unit Training Management Course, Recruiting Company Leaders Course, Staff and Faculty/Instructor Course, Guidance Counselor-Operations Course, Recruiter Master Trainer Course, Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Warrior Leaders Course, Station Commanders Course, Army Recruiter Course, and the Combat Life Savers Course.

Her military awards consist of the Meritorious Service Medal (6th  Award), the Army Commendation Medal (6th Award), the Army Achievement Medal (7th Award), the Good Conduct Medal (7th Award) the National Defense Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (w/5 Device), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Driver/Mechanic badge, the Marksmanship “Sharpshooter” Badge, the Recruiter Ring, the Recruiter Gold Badge with 3 Sapphires, and the Army Superior Unit Award (2nd Award).

Command Sgt. Maj. Indardeo has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Mountain State University, WV and a Master’s Degree in Education, from Post University, CT with a concentration in Instructional Design and Technology. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology. 

A proud member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, Command Sgt. Maj. Indardeo is also a lifelong member of the Adjutant General’s Corps, Fort Bliss Chapter and recipient of the Col. Robert L. Manning Achievement Medal.

Command Sgt. Maj. Indardeo is married to the former Andromeda Beharry.
