U.S. Army Parachute Team "Golden Knights" Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Robert J. Allen is a native of Columbus, Georgia. He enlisted into the Army in January 1995 and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia as an Infantryman. His assignments include Fort Hood, Texas, Schweinfurt, Germany, Fort Benning, Georgia, Camp Hovey, Korea, Fort Richardson, Alaska, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Fort Bliss, Texas, and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Allen has served in various leadership positions to include: Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, Bradley Driver, Bradley Gunner, Long Range Surveillance (LRS) Team Leader, LRS First Sergeant, and Test Parachutist. He has deployed to Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan.

His education includes all NCOPD schools and he is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeant’s Major Academy, class of 68. He is also a graduate of Ranger school, Airborne school, Jump Master Course, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Military Free Fall Parachutist (Basic and Jumpmaster) School, and the Recon Surveillance Leaders Course (RSLC). He has an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Administration and Management Studies from Excelsior College.

Allen’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (6th award), Army Commendation w/V device, Army Commendation (3rd award), Army Achievement Award (15th award), the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Master Rated Parachutist badge, Air Assault badge, Pathfinder badge, Military Freefall Jumpmaster Parachutist badge, Korean Parachutist badge, German Parachutist badge, Thai Parachutist badge and various other awards and decorations.

He is married to Selena Allen and they have five children: Jason, Rhendyn, Joshua, Jaxson and Chloe.
