Col. Carter L. Price is from Pratt, West Virginia. He received a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from West Virginia Institute of Technology, and a Master’s Degree in Military Science and Strategy. He joined the Army earning a commission through the Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia. His military education includes the Armor Officers’ Basic Course, the Infantry Officers’ Career Course, the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the US Army War College.
His military assignments include Platoon Leader with the 4th Squadron, 7th Cavalry at Camp Garry Owen in The Republic of Korea; Task Force S3, 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division (Operation Desert Spring); Commander, C Company, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division (Operation Iraqi Freedom); Commander, Headquarters Company, Camp New York, Kuwait; Armor Captains’ and Majors’ Assignment Officer, Alexandria, Virginia; Chief of Operations and Plans, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne (OIF 07-09); Operations Officer, 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment, Ghazaliyah, Northwest Baghdad, Iraq; Brigade Executive Officer, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne, Khowst, Afghanistan; Commander, NATO Response Force, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry, Poland, Germany, Latvia. His last duty assignment was in Erbil, Iraq with the Office of Security Cooperation.
Price’s military awards include Silver and Bronze Stars, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal and Combat Action Badge. His units have received the Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Awards, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Citation and Army Superior Unit Awards
